Step 17

Disconnect the front panel detector assembly connector from its socket on the logic board.

This media connector should also be reconnected one end at a time to decrease the potential risk of bending.

Step 19 Home/Touch ID Sensor

Remove the four screws securing the bracket over the home/Touch ID detector:

One 1.1 Millimeter screw

Three screws

Step 20

Remove the bracket that secures the home/Touch ID sensor.

Step 21

Pry beneath the left edge of the home button cable connector to disconnect it from its socket.

In case the whole connector begins to reverse up without breaking up, press down on the cable in the top edge of the connector with the flat of your spudger, while prying up the left edge of the connector. Be cautious not to harm the cable or connector, or you'll permanently disable the detector.

Step 22

Pry up the underlying connector and move it out from the way of the home/Touch ID cable.

It is very easy to harm your iPhone through this measure. Work slowly and take care in which you play along with your tool. If you harm the Touch ID hardware, then it may only be replaced by Apple.

In case the connector doesn't pry up easily, use a hair drier or iOpener to warm and soften the adhesive securing the connector, and after that try.

Don't attempt to detach the connector simply reverse it up slightly so the underlying home/Touch ID detector cable may be removed.

Step 23

Heating the region around the home/Touch ID sensor will assist soften the adhesive holding its fragile cable set up, making it easier to remove safely.

Flip the display assembly above. Use a hairdryer or prepare an iOpener and use it to the lower edge of the display for about 90 seconds to be able to soften up the adhesive beneath.

Step 24

Use an opening choice to gently separate the adhesive holding the home/Touch ID detector cable to the back side of the display panel.

Step 25

Remove the home/Touch ID detector assembly.

Step 26 Earpiece Speaker

Remove the 3 Phillips screws securing the earpiece bracket to the front panel:

2 2.6 Millimeter screws

One 1.7 Millimeter screw

Step 27

Remove the earpiece speaker bracket.
