The Differences Between iPhone 5, iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S

There are 3 distinct iPhone 5 models. They are iPhone 5, iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S. What are the differences between these models? When we spoke to our iPhone repair clients, sometimes they were not sure, what iPhone 5 model they have. We will highlight to you the differences in this post.

First of all, iPhone 5S and 5C runs iOS7, while iPhone 5 came with iOS6. You can of course upgrade your OS with the latest iOS at the Apple App store. When it comes to display, all of them have 4-inch IPS LCD, with 1136x640 pixels, 326 ppi. In terms of camera, iPhone 5S has 8Mps and 1080p and dual element flash, while iPhone 5C and 5 has only 720p. iPhone 5S comes with a faster A7 CPU that runs 64 bit while 5C and 5 are running 32 bit A6 processors.

Battery life of 5S and 5C are longer, with up to 10 hours on 3G. iPhone 5 battery life is 8 hours. iPhone 5S are the only iPhone that comes with fingerprint scanners and dedicated fitness tracking. You can unlock your iPhone 5S with just a touch of your finger at the home button. In terms of weight, iPhone 5 and 5S are lighter than iPhone 5C, which is 3.95 ounces as compared to 4.65 ounces. iPhone 5C is also thicker than the other 2 iPhones models. It is 0.35 inch thick as compared to 0.3 inch thickness of iPhone 5 and 5S. Lastly, it is choices of colors. iPhone 5S comes in gray, gold and silver. iPhone 5C comes with blue, green, pink, yellow and white. iPhone 5 only comes with black and white.

You can identify your iPhone model numbers in the back cover. iPhone 5S has the following model numbers A1533 or A1457 or A1530 (GSM models in Singapore). iPhone 5C model numbers are A1532 or A1507 or A1529. While iPhone 5 model numbers are A1428 and A1429. There are some other model numbers, however they are for CDMA models and China GSM models.
